Lauren Hom is a very famous designer and hand lettering artist.  
She picked up hand lettering as a hobby while studying at the School of Visual Arts.  She first started going to the School of Visual Arts when she was 18.  She grew up with the passion for drawing and painting.  Her artwork is always happy and colorful, a lot of times it has popular sayings on it, such as “If life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”  This one was titled Stigma and Cognition.     
   Lauren Hom is now 30 years old.  She was born November 15th 1990 with about 100 pieces of art.    One of her popular pieces of work was Stigma and                                          
Cognition made in December 2014.  Hom has her own website called Hom Sweet Hom.  She puts some of her art work on there, and she even has a blog.  In the section labeled “about” she talks a lot about herself.  Her motto she says is “Work hard snack often”  In NC State University, they also talk about her.  They talked about her going to the School of Visual Arts.  Laura grew up in Los Angeles, more in the southern part of California.    
                                          





Lauren has painted pieces of art for Starbucks, Google, Target, Youtube, Adobe, Refinery29, TimeOut New York, Mailchimp, and Time.  Some of her artworks are Croissants & Fonts, Googleplex Mural, Babybel Social, and many more.  She likes to do food art sometimes too.  Some examples are, Taking Back Sundae, Treat Yourself, Babybel Social, and many more.  She even made a mural for google..  It was 12 by 16 feet.  SHe called it the “Googleplex Mural.”  The mural features the phrase ”We’re going places.”  in bright pink.  It has colorful coral around the words.  She likes to make covers for magazines.  SOme examples are, Baltimore Magazine, Washingtonian Magazine, Tony Kids, another  Baltimore Magazine, And another Washingtonian Magazine.   In March 2017 she started a project known as “Flour Crowns”  She said she started this because of her love for food and puns.  “Flour Crowns” is a series of pictures of women wearing crowns made of baked goods.   Most of the pictures were of her but some others are featured on her website too.  There are 22 different pictures.  You can see all of them if you go to flourcrowns.com.  I think that this was one of her most successful projects because it reflected her personality.  Hom’s net worth is about 1.5 million dollars.  That's a lot of money!  When she was doing an interview with Brit-Co, they asked her what motivated her.  She replied with “I’m inspired by life, jokes, friends, cities and cultures.”  If you want to read the entire interview go to https://www.brit.co/lauren-hom-maker-profile/  She even talks about some women who inspire her!  She said Maricor/MaricarBecca Clanson,  and Tina Roth Eisenberg.  On her website she even puts little animation pictures.  Like in the Bank of America.  She has three animations of her dropping a coin into a jar full of other coins and the jars have words on them.
